Upon retiring from teaching she became a pastoral minister in St. Joseph Parish, Pittsfield, where she served until 2000. She also served as librarian at St. Mary, Longmeadow and in Developmental Reading at Holy Cross, Springfield and on the staff of the Bureau for Exceptional Children, Pittsfield. They loved you greatly in this life. Previous to that, she ministered in the schools of the Diocese as a teacher at Holy Trinity, Greenfield and Blessed Sacrament, Holyoke; as both teacher and later principal at St. Joseph High School, North Adams; principal at St. Joseph High School, Pittsfield, and as principal at Our Lady of Hope School, Springfield. She also served at Montessori School of the Angels in Westport, MA. We bless you, Mary, for the gift of joy as manifestation of the love of God, which you so readily shared with us. She was graduated from Sacred Heart High School and earned a B.A. She was predeceased by her eight siblings, Sr. Gertrude Brown, SSJ; Mary Clancy; and Francis, Maurice, Vincent, Stephen, Joseph and Thomas Brown.
